In this edition of NorthWest Indian News, Lummi Tribal member Chenoa Egawa hosts program from the Whatcom Museum of History and Art in Bellingham, Washington.  A blessing of the “Heritage of Design” exhibit by the Tom family singers of Lummi Nation opens the show. The “Heritage of Design” exhibit features American Indian and First Nations basketry and beading which are considered to be fine art.

“Native Legislators”, Niki Cleary reporter. Five Native legislators are elected to office in the Washington State legislature including Claudia Kauffman, who makes history being the first Native American woman elected to the state senate.
