“Celilo Wy am pum Homecoming and Healing Encampment”, Ronnie Washines reporter. Once among the most important of all Native American trading centers in the Pacific Northwest, Celilo Falls and the Celilo Villages on either side of the Columbia River were inundated by the reservoir behind the Dalles Dam in 1957. A few of the original residents of Celilo still live on Indian trust land nearby, however, life there has been a hardship.

“First Nations Snowboard Team”, Sonya Rani Anatole reporter. The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics will be held on the traditional lands of the Squamish, Lil ‘Wat, Musqueum and Tsiel Waututh  First Nations. The First Nations Snowboard Team, with Band members from throughout Canada, is gearing up for the event; in hopes to place their team members on the Olympic winners podium in 2010.
